Buddha Gazebo

A leisurely barefoot stroll through the lush gardens from the Main Veranda or Pool Deck leads to a large two-level outdoor Gazebo and deck. The Gazebo and deck are perched atop the remains of an old Quaker ruin, set apart to provide a place of peaceful contemplation.

The Gazebo is home to a large Balinese Buddha whose gaze is fixed due East, out across the sea to Virgin Gorda and Round Rock, keeping watch on the sailboats swaying at their moorings 40 feet below. The Gazebo and deck offer a round gas firepit, and provide a sheltered location that over the years has served as a haven for quiet exercise, prayer, spa treatments, yoga, curling up with a beloved (or with a beloved book), the tranquil contemplation of a moon or a sunrise, and even the occasional wedding ceremony. The Buddha has become a maritime landmark, noted by local boaters and watermen.
